Mount Kailash Soil
Description
This is sacred soil from the Mount Kailash region, the eternal home of Lord Shiva. You can keep a little of his own ground close, even if you cannot make the journey there.
And there is no ground on earth quite like it. This is where Bhagwan Shiva sits in endless meditation with Mata Parvati, surrounded by his ganas and his beloved Nandi, the place the scriptures call the centre of all creation. From its land flow four of Asia's great rivers, as if life itself begins at Shiva's home.
In the caves below the peak, the Saptarishi, the seven great sages, are said to have sat in deep penance to be near him, and it is believed some rishis meditate there even now, hidden in its silence. For ages, gods and sages alike have turned toward this mountain, longing for the grace of Lord Shiva.
No one has ever set foot on its peak. When even the mighty Ravana tried to lift this mountain, Shiva pressed it down with a single toe, so no force has ever moved it. This is ground touched only by the divine.
For generations, devotees have carried a handful of soil home from the tirth they visit and kept it in their puja ghar, because the blessing of a sacred place is believed to live in its very land. This is the same sacred soil, brought from the Mount Kailash region, so the grace of Shiva's home can rest in your home and worship.
Keep it in your mandir, add a pinch to your puja, or hold it during prayer and meditation. A little of Kailash, always near.
