Step 1: Firstly, sprinkle some Gangajal on your body.

Step 2: If you are at home, then place the Rudraksha in front of Lord Shiva's picture or otherwise in a plate facing towards Shiva's Side.

Step 3: Worship the Rudraksha with Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra; also offer dhoop and flowers to Lord Shiva.

Cautions: Do's & Don’ts of Wearing 18 Mukhi Rudraksha

Wearing the 18 Mukhi Rudraksha is considered auspicious, but it must be done properly. Also, there are some limitations on what to do and what you should not do when you’re wearing the 18 Mukhi Rudraksha mala/bracelet:

• Always wear your Rudraksha after taking a bath and purifying yourself with Gangajal.
• Remove the mala when going to the toilet/for bowel movements.
• Wear the 18 Mukhi Rudraksha on a Friday or Monday during Brahma Muhurta.
• Wash your hands and feet, and sprinkle water on your head before wearing the mala again.
• It's suggested to use satvic threads only, like silk, cotton, copper, silver, or gold.
• Never take the mala to a cemetery or near deceased persons.
• Chant ॐ ह्रीं श्रीं वसुधायै स्वाहा 108 times before wearing 18 Mukhi Rudraksha for the first time.
• Do not wear it in a synthetic, plastic, or artificial thread; use only natural, satvic threads.
• Store your bracelet/mala in a clean cloth or at the home temple when not wearing it.
• Avoid wearing during non-vegetarian consumption or intake of alcohol.
