Why Soil From Kedarnath?
महाद्रिपार्श्वे च तटे रमन्तं सम्पूज्यमानं सततं मुनीन्द्रैः।
सुरासुरैर्यक्षमहोरगाढ्यैः केदारमीशं शिवमेकमीडे॥

Kedarnath stands high in the Garhwal Himalayas, the highest of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Tradition holds that the Pandavas came here after the great war seeking his forgiveness, and Shiva slipped away in the form of a bull, his hump rising at Kedarnath, worshipped ever since. And it was from near here that they began their final climb to heaven, the path still called Swargarohini.
